Minneapolis hosted the superbowl over the past weekend and turned the city into a football wonderland. Although I was still bitter that my Vikings did not make the superbowl, it was still fun being the host city. The “superbowl live” area was set up just outside of my work with all sorts of winter activities and media broadcasts.
There was a lot of fun celebrity sightings and it was cool to have such a spotlight on our city. Mother nature gave the ultimate Minnesota experience, and kept the weather around 0 degrees for the weekend. The perfect highlight was Idina Menzel (the Let it Go singer from Frozen) saying that it was too cold here! Dress warmer Idina!
I did not have the funds to attend the big game, but went to a party where we celebrated the Vikings season with this adorable “Minneapolis Miracle” cake (the play drawn on the cake is the play that won our playoff game as time expired for the non-football followers). How cute are the nutter-butter cookie players!
