Some of you may or may not know that I went to college for fashion design and work in product design and development for home decor at Target headquarters. (I usually don’t say too much on this blog because I … Continue reading
Purchasing a Madewell bag has been on my lust list (this is a thing right?) for a while. I *almost* bought on a few years back but there was a rumor of layoffs at my company and I something told … Continue reading
A few weeks ago, I shared my tips for easy ways to declutter your home. One of the best ways to cut back on clutter is by cleaning our your closet. I find myself with a lot of clothes that … Continue reading
I recently got hooked on beauty boxes. They are offered by many retailers that send an assortment of sample or full sized products for (usually) a really low price. The goal is to let you try things without a huge … Continue reading
I feel like post-Christmas is the most awkward time of year for home decor. Its always sad (yet refreshing) to take down all of the holiday decor, but I never know what to replace it with. It feels to early for spring decor, but who decorates for valentines day?
This year I went for a minimal look with a few hints of spring as a refresh after all of the holiday decor. I may have gone a little overboard on the fake flowers, but there is still snow outside so its all I can do for now!
Right now I’m in the process of ripping 500 square feet of hardwood floors out of a house, so I may be MIA from the blog for a few days. But, here is a quick and fun project that I did earlier this week to inspire you for now!
My go-to look these days has been any sweatshirt that’s some sort of designer name or luxury fabric that makes it not look like you’re wearing a sweatshirt. (I can thank the long Minnesota winters for this!). I’ve been seeing super cute Beyonce-inspired “I Woke Up Like This” shirts all over pinterest, and knew I could easily make my own out of a cozy sweatshirt.
Here’s how I did it:
Although I’m entirely sick of snow and so ready for spring, the looks for Fall 2013 almost have me ready to start Winter all over again. Fall Ready to Wear has brought us rich colors, sensible and chic winter looks, and flattering feminine dresses. There also seems to be quite the trend of models with soaking wet hair– I’m hoping we leave that look on the runway!
Here are my top 4 fall trends:
Rich teals and blues are paired with one another and pop against black.
Deep rosy pinks are a step away from neon of seasons past, but still bold and feminine.
Practical winter looks have us ready for a Minnesota winter with cozy fur collars and scarves.
Silhouettes are simple with tailored sleeves and feminine flared skirts.
Who needs spring when we have such great colors and silhouettes to look forward to in fall?
