I’ve been planning to upgrade and restyle part of my bedroom for a while now, but other projects have kept getting in the way. The wall across from my bed is sort of a dead space, where I currently have a little end table and a vintage mirror. Its sort of become a catchall space, and was never really something that I planned or thought out.
I finally decided to upgrade and make it a more usable space for myself. I mostly wanted it to look nicer, more intentional, and have a little bit of storage. Like any project, I spent a month or two looking and planning. At first I just wanted to update the mirror, but realized it would be better to get a better furniture piece like a console table to fit my needs.
There has been a lot of ~skinny jean controversy~ floating around the internet right now. Instead of being offended the kids are saying what isn’t cool anymore, its important to remember that dressing for your body and what makes you feel good is the most important.
The right pair of jeans can turn a simple outfit from plain to chic. Some of my personal favorite jeans are distressed boyfriend cut jeans from J Crew. I usually size down a size with these cuts, so they’re not quite so baggy. These cuts look super cute with a variety of simple tops. Keep reading for some of my favorite inspo!
Once of my most recent DIY projects was updating the picture frames above my bed. Before, I had one frame that I had painted white. It served its purpose, but it was time for an upgrade.
One way to make your home look stylish and more well designed is large scale art. Statement pieces feel more purposeful and can become the focal point for a room. For my bedroom, I chose 2 large scale skinny gold frames with large mattes to hold a 5″x7″ photo. I loved the contrast of the skinny frame with the thick matte. You can find a similar frame here!
This year, you might not be thinking about spending a lot on a new fall wardrobe. Whether you aren’t going out as much, or trying to stick to a budget, that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style! I’ve recently been eyeing some fun looks that incorporate spring and summer pieces into cold weather looks.
If you’ve ever opened your closet full of clothing and said “I have NOTHING to wear!”, you are not alone! The problem usually isn’t about not having enough clothes, but not having the RIGHT pieces in order to pull outfits together. I’ve found that a few staple pieces allow me to pull together stylish outfits for any occasion.
The key is doing the legwork to find pieces that are a great quality and fit your body. That way they will last for years to come, and continue to be the staples you throw on day after day. Keep reading to see my key wardrobe pieces and why they have become my go-to style secrets.
Spring is always really slow to start in Minnesota, so I appreciate when the weather finally is warm enough to start wearing spring outfits. After wearing sweaters and boots for 6 months, its so nice to finally pull out short sleeves and dresses!
One style trend that I have been loving lately is the all white look. It seems like there are endless fashion “rules” about wearing white– but when your outfit is as polished as the looks below, no one will be able to say a thing!
Just be careful with your coffee while wearing these looks.
